The ideal candidate will have proficiency with masonry tools, strong attention to detail, and the ability to read blueprints. Prior experience and completion of a formal apprenticeship are preferred.
Key Responsibilities

Cutting, shaping, and finishing stones to required specifications using hand tools, power tools, or machinery. This includes chisel work, sawing, and grinding to achieve precise dimensions and shapes.

Building and repairing structures made from stone, such as walls, buildings, monuments, and decorative features. This involves laying and setting stones in mortar, ensuring they are level and aligned properly.

Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand the design requirements and plan the construction process accordingly. This includes determining the materials needed and the best techniques for the project.

Key Responsibilities

Using masonry saws, power tools, or hand tools, they cut and shape bricks and blocks to meet precise dimensions and design specifications. This is necessary to ensure that bricks fit around openings and into corners and edges and to create bespoke shapes.

Mixing mortar to the correct consistency and apply it to bricks and blocks. They must ensure that the mortar is properly mixed and applied to provide a strong bond between the materials.

Reading and interpreting architectural blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine the layout, dimensions, and design requirements of the structures they are building. This helps in planning the construction process accurately.

Using horizontal layers of bricks, blocks, or stones to build walls, partitions, and other constructions. This include placing bricks, spreading mortar, and making sure they are plumb, level, and aligned.
